OLD BUSINESS
We discussed our upcoming Mt. Christie mixer and Dawn Garcia will report the status of that mixer at our next meeting.
MAYDA:  Phil reported that we were not reapplying for a grant this year for the MAYDA sports park, but would make a major effort on a couple of grants next year.  He also stated that recipients for the two MAYDA scholarships had been selected and would be announced at the presentation ceremonies of the student’s respective schools.
Membership:  Carole Porretta stated that we now have 80 paid members and will be following up with the balance of last year’s members.  Of the 80 members, seven are new to us.  Carole, Phil, Betsy and Wes will meet later this week to "tidy up" our membership status.
Cooking for Charity:  There was no report.  Wes will contact Pat Hackney for an update.
Metamora Area Chamber of Commerce Directory: will be published in early 2011; Amber Crawford will chair this committee.  Phil and Amber are to report on their progress at the next meeting and will be looking for additional committee support!
Metamora Country Days and Hot Air Balloon Festival: Dawn is doing well with preparation for the event but could still use more volunteers. Phone her at (810) 678-2281
NEW BUSINESS
We discussed the upcoming Metamora Garden Tour.  This event is put on as a fundraiser by one of our members, Gallery 194, and will be held on July 10th this year.  Last year's Tour brought over 500 visitors into the Metamora area and allowed Gallery 194 to install an elevator at their facility.  All of the gardens this year are within 1 to 5 miles from downtown Metamora.  Tickets will be $12 if purchased ahead of time or $15 on the day of the tour which is from 10 - 3.  Maps will be provided with the locations of the six gardens, four of which are down long gated drives, two of which will have resident artists displaying their works and shops.  All of the gardens reflect the owner’s special likes and this year there are a lot of water features and outdoor living "spaces".  Call Gallery 194 at (810) 667-1495 for more information.
Retirement Celebration for Patricia Pierce, Metamora Huntsmen for the Metamora Hunt Hounds for 20 successful years is Sunday May 23 from noon to 3PM at Fair Play Farm on Brocker Road; call 810-678-8762 to RSVP.
Lapeer County Road Commission - update on Pratt Road tree cutting.
The Banbury Cross Kentucky Derby event was not as well attended as it was last year.
There will be no Clysdales at the Celebration of the Horse.
See Phil to promote you business on our website.

Next meeting:  The next meeting will be held on June 9th at 5:00 pm (meeting to start at 6:00) at Wes Wickham's home.
Meeting adjourned at 1:20
